The challenge: figure out how to promote an awards show without announcing the big
name talent who had not signed their contracts to appear. Part 1 of the two launch
spots did that perfectly. It left out the names in the most clever way possible, while still
doing its job to alert viewers it was coming.

(Creative Director)

Part 2 was shot in anticipation that the contracts getting signed which included the
show’s Marquis honoree, Mary J. Blige. The talent, LeToya Luckett, had toured with
Mary and knew her moves well. She suggested bringing a Mary-esque outfit for the
dance scene that ended the spot. It was a great collaboration that ended in
a GEMA nomination in 2025.
